Powerful Ingredients Found In The Season's Favorite Fruit Shield The Skin Against Fall And Winter Weather.
In mid fall, the country goes pumpkin-crazy. Everywhere you turn there are lattes, candles, hand soaps. Nearly everything one can imagine gets a pumpkin makeover to keep fall feeling festive.
At Story + Rain we're always looking to add to our skincare routines. We keep an eye out for new ingredients and formulas, immediately testing them as they hit the market. These days, our latest love lines up with the season. We've uncovered some serious skincare secrets, and they all have one thing in common: pumpkin. Some powerhouse properties can found in pumpkin; ones that are especially effective in shielding skin against fall and winter weather.
Pumpkin is actually a fruit, and is packed with enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). What does this mean? They help cells turn over, and this keeps skin bright and smooth. Zinc, present in pumpkin seeds, helps decrease oil production. And on the flip side, essential fatty acids (EFAs) increase hydration by providing a barrier to skin. And then there's Vitamin A and Vitamin C, two antioxidants that help soften and soothe the skin, and (perhaps most importantly) boost collagen production. Collagen is essential for fighting the signs of aging.
Here, 6 of our favorite items from facial oils and masks, to body lotions and serums. So while we might be pumpkin'd out or over the craze in general, we're picking pumpkin products for our skin. And seeing the results.
