From Sunday Suppers At Lucques by Suzanne Goin
1/2 cup Deglet Noor dates
2 tablespoons super-good-extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons sliced flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon sliced cilantro
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Pit the dates, and slice them thinly lenghtwise.
Toss the dates with the olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, and cilantro. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and some pepper.
