19th Century Charm Meets 21st Century Comfort At This Luxury Lodge In Lenox, Massachusetts
Next time you’re in need of an escape from the city, consider heading to 33 Main, a luxurious 8-room inn nestled in the quaint town of Lenox, MA. Roughly a 3.5-hour drive from Boston or New York, this newly designed boutique inn describes itself as “19th century charm meets 21st century comfort.” Annie Selke, the founder, owner and designer, thoughtfully designed every detail of the space, from the 100% all-natural bath products she co-branded with Farmaesthetics, to the Ralph Lauren wall coverings and exclusive Hästens beds.
Annie grew up in Lenox and is the founder and designer behind her namesake interiors company, and two lines, Dash & Albert and Pine Cone Hill. Annie's aesthetic is comfortable, approachable, and elegant and it's evident in every corner inside 33 Main. We spoke with her about her design process and her favorite places in town.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ROOM AT 33 MAIN AND WHY?
I love all of them but am particular to Aster because 1) it’s pet friendly 2) It has a fabulous bath tub (and I love a bath) and 3) I love the blue paisley fabric used throughout the room.
TALK TO US ABOUT YOUR METHOD FOR DESIGNING THE ROOMS AND CHOOSING THE COLOR SCHEMES AT 33 MAIN.
We started by looking at our most popular or most inn-appropriate products, and then created a number of mood boards incorporating coordinating rugs, artwork and accessories. It was so fun to play with our product assortment this way! I only wish there were 100 rooms to do instead of 8!

ANNIE'S GO-TO'S IN LENOX, Ma:
Cup of coffee: I like my coffee to be french press, in bed! But, I would go to Haven for a vanilla cinnamon latte if I’m out and about.
Delicious dinner: The Library at Wheatleigh is a favorite.
Art or Inspiration: I think the historic, New England architecture in downtown Lenox is what sets it apart from other parts of the country and I am uplifted by it everyday. I particularly love the Lenox Library with its lovely pink brick and fabulous cupola.
Retail therapy: I love Design Menagerie and The Annie Selke store, of course!
