Robert was born and raised in New York. After graduating from Parsons with a degree in Fine Arts, he went on to create the fashion brand Costello Tagliapietra with partner Jeffrey Costello. He lives in Brooklyn with Jeffrey and their bulldog Eugene and is the illustrator for clients such as Kiehl's and Disney. These days Robert continues to make clothes alongside partner Jeffrey Costello for their line JCRT; a return to their roots of tailoring. The collection is anchored by the shirt and is cut for men and women of all shapes and sizes. Each shirt is sewn up in their signature plaids, meticulously designed and loomed in limited quantities.
