BODY | MEDITATION
I CREATED A SMALL MEDITATION SPACE IN MY HOME DURING MY PREGNANCY. I’VE SPOKEN BEFORE ABOUT THE STRUGGLES I ENDURED DURING THOSE (VERY LONG) 9 MONTHS. ONE OF MY GREATEST COMFORTS, THAT I RELIED ON, WAS MEDITATION. I’VE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF THE CALM APP, AND DURING MY PREGNANCY I LOVED THE EXPECTFUL APP. BOTH ARE FILLED WITH EASY AND PEACEFUL GUIDED MEDITATION FOR WHATEVER YOUR MIND AND BODY MIGHT NEED AT THE MOMENT. I STRUGGLE WITH ANXIETY, SO IT'S BEEN VERY HEALING TO FIND A PRACTICE THAT CAN HELP BRING ME EASE AND COMFORT WHENEVER I NEED IT. I’LL LIGHT A CANDLE, SOME SAGE, PALO SANTO... AND GIVE MY MIND A MOMENT, EVEN FOR JUST FIVE MINUTES TO BREATHE AND RELAX. IT TRULY HELPS TO CENTER ME FOR MY DAY.
BEAUTY | SKIN CARE
AS SOMEONE WHO HAS STRUGGLED WITH ACNE THEIR ENTIRE LIFE DUE TO PCOS, IT'S ALWAYS BEEN HARD FOR ME TO FIND PRODUCTS THAT CAN HELP ALL OF MY SKIN'S NEEDS. SOMETHING THAT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME, PRIOR TO GETTING PREGNANT, WAS ELIMINATING ALL TOXIC PRODUCTS FROM MY HOME. I STARTED WITH MY SKIN CARE ITEMS. TATA HARPER IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BRANDS. HER PRODUCTS ARE CLEAN AND NATURAL, AND I FELT VERY SAFE USING THEM THROUGHOUT MY PREGNANCY. NOW THAT I'M POSTPARTUM, I'VE ADDED SOME OTHER PRODUCTS BACK INTO MY ROUTINE INCLUDING ONES FROM FAVORITES SUCH AS DR. STURM AND DR. GROSS. I'M STILL MANAGING MY ACNE (AND PREGNANCY DIDN'T REALLY HELP WITH THAT) BUT STICKING WITH GOOD PRODUCTS. I'M ALSO DRINKING LOTS OF WATER, GETTING GOOD REST, AND MAINTAINING A CLEAN DIET, WHICH HAVE ALWAYS HELPED.
BABY | FOOD
NOW THAT OUR SON IS EATING SOLID FOOD I'VE HAD SO MUCH FUN COOKING HEALTHY AND TASTY MEALS FOR HIM! WE KEEP OUR HOME AS ORGANIC AS POSSIBLE, BOTH FOR HIM AND FOR OURSELVES. IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WE GIVE HIM FOOD THAT WE ALSO ENJOY, SO WE CAN EAT TOGETHER AND ALWAYS HAVE GOOD OPTIONS AVAILABLE. SOME DAYS, IF OUR SCHEDULE IS BUSY AND WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO MAKE SOMETHING FROM SCRATCH, WE LOVE USING RAISED REAL, A GREAT DELIVERY SERVICE FOR CONVENIENT, ORGANIC FOOD FOR BABIES. IN THE PHOTO ABOVE, THE BROCCOLI, CHICKPEAS AND STRING BEANS ARE FROM RAISED REAL. I ADDED THE SWEET POTATOES AND BLUEBERRIES MYSELF, FOR A GREAT NUTRITIOUS MEAL THAT'S ALSO WELL BALANCED.
